Does AlphaCAM link to any Solid Modelling design systems?
Apart from good IGES input from any solid design system, there are two types of direct link to SolidWorks. If you need the full functionality of AlphaCAM (e.g. parametric macros, externally created scripts, nesting, etc.) you can send geometries or surfaces directly from the SolidWorks data base to AlphaCAM on the same computer. This is a free of charge feature in Advanced 2D and 3D Mill AlphaCAM. If you just want to machine the parts you have designed in SolidWorks, you can buy a lower cost module - AlphaCAM-SW - which adds the full 3D Mill machining menu into SolidWorks.
