Cabinet Vision Software Helps Educational Furniture Manufacturer to Top Class Performance
Supplier of world-class CAD/CAM software for the engineering, woodworking and stone markets, Alphacam has appointed Martin Measures as sales director with responsibility for the UK and Ireland for all wood, metal and stone products and services, heading up a team with a range of skills and expertise in these industry sectors.
Martin brings to his role strong manufacturing and sales experience, having worked for Alphacam since 2002 when he joined as sales executive for the north of England. He has played a key role in developing the software products into new business areas.
After serving his toolmaking apprenticeship with BICC Components, he worked on the shop floor and then in a production engineering capacity before leaving to join Lucas Aerospace in 1989. As senior production/project engineer within the Spearfish implementation project team, Martin’s responsibilities included planning, estimating and customer liaison.
In 1996 Martin was appointed by Licom Systems (now Alphacam) as applications and technical support engineer (CAD/CAM) before moving to Product Plus as production manager, machine and fabrication shop, where he was involved in developing new products and implementing continuous improvement from design through to manufacture within ISO 9000. Other managerial appointments followed at Welding Units and Peter Miles Engineering.
